Lesson 2: Pop Art (color, contrast, pattern, & texture)

In the second lesson, students research the history of Pop   Art  by reading an article titled "Pop Art: The Art of Popular Culture," by artyfactory.com. In the   first assignment for this lesson, students create either a "Andy Warhol Style" portrait, or a Pop Art comic scene or strip (inspired by Roy Lichtenstein).

In the final assignment, students work in small to large groups to complete   a large-scale Pop Art Portrait,       utilizing the Dürer Grid technique (lesson 1). The Pop Art Portrait is a collaborative artwork for groups of 12-20   people. *Assignments for Lesson 2 were adapted from artyfactory.com.
